Egbeda Local Government, with headquarters at Egbeda, was carved out from the defunct Lagelu Local Government in 1989. The creation of Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) was officially created and signed into law on october 6th, 2016. Ajorosun (LCDA) is one of them which is part of Egbeda Local Government.
This legislation created 35 LCDAs out of the existing 33 constitutionally recognized Local Government Areas (LGAs) to accelerate grassroots development, which Ajorosun LCDA was carved out from Egbeda Local Government LCDAs were created to bring government closer to the people, they are essentially administrative outposts and do not receive direct funding from the Federation Account like the 33 statutory LGAs.

Shelter varies with density — highly dense core areas with older stock, and moderately dense, well-planned residential estates offering good quality housing.

Home to Nigerian Breweries Plc, BODE Foam, Coca-Cola Bottling Company and a growing industrial cluster around Ajoda New Town.
Culture & Tourism
Oke 'Badan (May) and Egungun (June) festivals anchor the cultural calendar. Attractions include Asejire Dam, Ajoda New Town, IYY Youth Village, Buso Rock Hotel and Segelu Hotel.
Agriculture
Rich fertile land underpins production of oil palm, cassava, plantain, yam and cocoa — supported by Oyo State ADP, Ideal Fish Farm and Premier Oil.
Social Infrastructure
The multi-million New Gbagi Shopping Complex has transformed commerce, complementing the LG-owned Idi-Iroko market and the planned permanent secretariat.
Road & Transportation
Since DFRRI (1986), roads have been widened and rebuilt — 51 km of roads, 13 box culverts, 12 ring culverts and 2 bridges delivered across the LGA.
Education
The LGA is served by 77 primary schools and 28 secondary schools. Public primary enrolment reached 29,374 (pupil-teacher ratio 27), while public secondary enrolment stood at 10,263 (student-teacher ratio 34).
Health
31 health institutions serve the Local Government area. Infant and maternal mortality remain very low, and immunisation coverage against early-childhood diseases is consistently high across every ward.

Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele
Executive Chairman · Egbeda Local GovernmentA public servant, lawyer and community advocate, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele has led Egbeda's most ambitious development cycle in a generation commissioning 22 primary health centres, launching the LG-wide solar streetlight programme, and instituting quarterly town halls in every ward.
Before public office he practised law in Ibadan for 18 years and served on the boards of two community development foundations. He holds an LL.M from the University of Ibadan.
